I retired after fifty year of work.  The last working years I was a principal consultant for an business intelligence consulting organization.   The work was, well work, however, it did provide me with opportunities to take photos in different locations around the country and also a few trips were to exotic locations.

I now have settled into my new retirement job with a focus on exercise, travel and photography.  For me, photography really became exciting with the beginning of the digital era.  I grew up drawing and painting.  In college, I purchased my first SLR camera and dabbled in a friend’s darkroom.  I later was the proud owner of a folding Polaroid, which I used to take pictures in Rome, Florence and northern Italy.  Later, I enjoyed a Nikon N4004 system taking picture all the while in full automatic mode.  Claudia gave me a small Olympus in 1992, which I used in Malaysia, again in full automatic mode.

My first digital camera was a Sony that captured 640KB photos on a 3 ½ floppy disk — not a lot of resolution but I could develop the photos.  For me, this was the perfect, I had control of capture and development.  I could not wait to take more photos!  I spent hours researching cameras, photographic software and equipment. I learned how to take the best capture with each camera and how to create the best photo with each software product.

This website is the result of my learnings and my continuing voyage to better photos and better photographic techniques.  I will share with you my good and bad images and my opinion of  which is which.  I will share with you my experiences with software both choices and techniques.  My goal is to provide value to anyone who pass this way and enrich his / her photographic experience.

I work out of my home in Raleigh, North Carolina and am open to travel to interesting locations for photographic sessions or digital workflow / computer photographic training sessions.

If you like my work you can purchase prints, download for electronic use, create a custom calendar or use one of the photos in a  free electronic greeting card.  This option will be available soon.

  1. I am really enjoying the theme/design of your weblog. Do you ever run into any web browser compatibility problems? A few of my blog readers have complained about my blog not operating correctly in Explorer but looks great in Chrome. Do you have any ideas to help fix this issue?
